Inglewood's Festival of Aero Modelling continues to Grow
Model aircraft of all shapes and sizes have graced the skies around Inglewood this week with the Festival of Aero Modelling being held by Australian Large-Scale Models (ALSM). Participants have attended from as far away as, America, Mexico, and the United Kingdom with 200 pilots plus pit crews and families. Planes of all shapes and sizes were based at the venue with many pilots owning a number of aircraft. The range of models included planes with propellers, jet aircraft and helicopters. Upon arrival one could only be amazed at the size of this event and marvel at the logistics required to co-ordinate it on the ground and in the air. Three runways were operating across the Inglewood aerodrome to accommodate the event. Planes were also out and about testing out the use of Coolmunda Dam as an extra venue including some planes with floats. Over the week patrons will have the opportunity to engage in various activities including bus tours, Pilates and a grand get together at the Inglewood Civic Centre, with the local SES valiantly handling the majority of the catering duties
