Texas Golf

A huge thank you to our band of volunteers who make our club function (catering, bar staff, mowers, rakers, cleaning and admin). Even the emus are helping with the mowing to get the course ready for Sunday.

After a miserably cold day on Wednesday the weather gods were kind for Thursdays Chook Run. Twelve players took on the back nine holes. With a social handicap of 13, Phil had a score of 37. He won the chook on a count back from Barry with a 24 net as well.

The first round of Men’s Matchplay started on Sunday. Glen M, Ben, Bruce Q, Phil, Nick and PC are through to the second round. Other members played a stroke event. Captain Di, with a net of 65, won the ladies and the handicapper had a field day cutting her handicap by two. President Geoff won the men’s competition with a net of 70. Pin shots for the day went to Nick on 3 and Tim on 7. Nick also had an eagle on 16!

A reminder that the Zone Championships are being held here on Sunday. Players need to nominate with Di this week.

We’ve had an upgrade on two of the tee boxes with sandstone kindly donated by Greg Hill. Our volunteers braved Wednesday’s cold conditions to install the sandstone. Thank you, Greg.
