ACCIONA and MacIntyre Windfarm Updates
ACCIONA Energia recently announced the appointment of Gavin Reymond as Managing Director of ACCIONA Energia in Australia. He commenced his new role on 1 September 2025, reporting directly to the company’s CEO Arantza Ezpeleta.

Reymond, a civil engineer with more than 30 years of experience, was most recently Group Head of Strategy and Transformation at ACCIONA’s Australian Infrastructure business, where he directed the division’s renewable energy investment and development. Prior to this, he was the Executive Regional Manager for New South Wales, where he was responsible for ensuring the delivery of critical infrastructure projects such as Western Sydney Airport, Sydney Metro and Western Harbour Tunnel.
“I’m very excited to take on this new role in ACCIONA Energía and looking forward to continuing to develop leading renewable energy projects in Australia”, said Reymond.
“We are at a critical time for the energy transition with real progress being made to reduce emissions in Australia and ACCIONA Energia is taking a leading role in the development of a low-carbon economy,” he added.
Australia is a key investment priority for ACCIONA Energia globally and we have a robust pipeline of clean energy projects in development, including the commissioning of the largest wind farm in the Southern Hemisphere.”
“I look forward to continuing to develop our renewable energy portfolio across Australia and to building on our demonstrated commitment to furthering innovation and sustainability in the sector.”
ACCIONA Energia is currently commissioning the largest wind farm in the Southern Hemisphere in southwestern Queensland and the 480MWp Aldoga Solar Farm outside Gladstone.
With significant milestones achieved, robust local partnerships, and a focus on environmental stewardship, the Aldoga Solar Farm and MacIntyre Wind Farm are creating lasting benefits for the regions Acciona serve.
The MacIntyre Wind Farm has achieved a major milestone with the successful commissioning of 115 of its 162 wind turbines. The wind farm is going through grid tests and is already exporting up to 461 MW of clean energy from 81 generating wind turbines.
With construction activities nearing completion, focus is now moving to our Rehabilitation Plan where the project will significantly reduce its footprint and work with landowners to return the land back to farming.
The recently completed Operations and Maintenance (O&M) building is now open, serving as the operational hub for the MacIntyre Wind Farm. This modern facility provides a dedicated space for monitoring, maintenance, and coordination activities. It is situated adjacent to the northern substation, in the heart of the 32,000ha site.
