Additional Community Information Sessions Announced for Herries Range Wind Farm
ACCIONA Energía will hold additional community sessions for residents to provide further opportunities for the community to ask questions and share feedback about the proposed Herries Range Wind Farm.

Scheduled for early November, these sessions will allow residents to hear directly from independent technical and environmental experts about the project.
The last community information sessions held at Karara, Warwick, Leyburn and Inglewood attracted almost 50 residents and local businesses, and updated and more detailed information was shared about the Herries Range project, including the updated project layout and the proposed Neighbour Benefit Sharing Program. Community questions focused on practical local issues including construction water use during dry conditions, visibility from neighbouring properties, proposed access routes, local road impacts, workforce accommodation, cultural heritage, ecology, noise monitoring, bushfire management, and long-term decommissioning and rehabilitation responsibilities.
Feedback from the community at prior information sessions in September last year helped to inform a review of the project layout, reducing the footprint of the wind farm and removing some turbines.
The additional community information sessions will provide more opportunities to share information from technical and environmental studies. These include independent studies into noise, visual amenity, bushfire safety, ecology and social and economic benefits, which will help inform the Development Application for the 762MW project.
“We would like to thank the many local residents and small business owners who came out to meet with our team and chat about the proposed Herries Range Wind Farm,” ACCIONA Energía’s Queensland Lead David Carson said.
“We have listened to community feedback and understand that some people still have questions or concerns about the proposed project and we want to make sure they have an opportunity to discuss this feedback.
“We will run additional sessions in early November with the project team and independent technical experts available to respond to the key questions raised at Karara, Warwick, Leyburn and Inglewood, and answer further questions from landowners and local residents.
“We understand the community has a strong demand for genuine, ongoing engagement about our Herries Range Wind Farm, and we will continue to hold a range of engagement opportunities for the community as the project progresses.
“I also encourage anyone who lives near the project to reach out to our community team to arrange a one-on-one meeting to discuss the project and our Neighbour Benefit Sharing Program, or to provide feedback via our Community Hub.”
