Be Part of the Conversation R U OK?
TADDS group, in conjunction with the Atholwood CWA will be hosting an Outdoor Spring Lunch at The TADDS Hub. They will be supporting R U OK?

On Thursday the 11th of September, the TADDS group, in conjunction with the Atholwood CWA will be hosting an Outdoor Spring Lunch at The TADDS Hub. All are welcome to join us for a delightful day of fun, food and awareness! Bring a friend and enjoy a day of connection and community! Great opportunity to visit the TADDS Hub and see what it’s all about!
We will be supporting R U OK? and want to encourage everyone to stay connected and make asking, ‘are you OK?’ part of their every day. Life’s ups and downs happen to all of us, so chances are someone you know might be struggling. The earlier we genuinely and sincerely ask, ‘are you OK?’, the greater chance we have to help someone before they are in crisis. You don’t need to be an expert to have an R U OK? conversation. Listening and giving someone your time might be just what they need to help them through.
September is Rural Road Safety Month and is your call to action. A chance to step up and take responsibility – for yourself and for every life around you. Out on rural roads, the risks are real. These roads are often long, unforgiving and far from help – key reasons why they are where almost two in every three road deaths happen. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Every time you get behind the wheel or use the road, you hold someone else’s life in your hands. So, take a moment. Put yourself in their shoes. They have people who love them.
And they’re counting on you to choose road safety. That means slowing down, staying alert and calm. It means sharing the road and the responsibility. This September and beyond, take to rural roads with more than your destination in mind.
The Country Women’s Association (CWA) of NSW is taking on the issues around food sustainability during this year’s annual Awareness Week campaign, as figures show the alarming number of NSW and ACT families without enough to eat, and the millions of tonnes of food Australians are wasting each year.
CWA of NSW Awareness Week will run from September 7 to 13, with the focus on:
Increasing public understanding of the benefits of seasonal eating, highlighting the health, economic, and environmental benefits to consumers and local producers;
Highlighting ways to help household grocery budgets go further – and help ease cost-of-living pressures - with strategies like consuming foods that are in season;
Highlighting the amount of food currently wasted by Australian households each year, and ways to help reduce this waste, particularly through increased awareness and education; and
Advocating for the introduction of a national Food Donation Tax Incentive.
The TADDS Outdoor Spring Lunch is an opportunity to create awareness about these important issues, whilst catching up with friends! Hope to see you all there.
