Blue Day for Dolly

“Do it for Dolly Day” is a national Australian initiative. It honours the memory of 14-year-old Dolly Everett and aims to raise awareness about the devastating impacts of bullying.

Last Friday, students at Texas school dressed in blue and donated a gold coin to the cause.

The funds are raised to support mental health programs and provide resources to parents and children across the country.

Texas students wore blue because it was Dolly’s favourite colour.

League Tag Competition

The year 10 students at Texas School have organised a lunchtime League Tag competition. The initiative was very well supported with enough nominations to field 6 teams. Students have been thoroughly immersed in the competition at first break and have competed very eagerly. Year 10 students organised the competition as part of a certificate II course they are completing on Active Volunteering. The students have been commended on the wonderful work they have done to make this event very successful.

Team placings will occur later in the week at the conclusion of the competition.
