Celebration of Seniors Month - Inglewood Community Health - Seniors Morning Tea
What a fun day we had at our annual celebration of Seniors Month...

Our Theme of the Day was “Things our Mum used to say” – Life lessons and Wisdom. There was a little competition on the day – encouraging attendees to write down the positive things your Mum said to you as a younger person.
Joy M. wrote “My mother was Welsh and had a beautiful nature – If ladies - when cutting up for dance - would gossip, our Mum would not join in but say “Have you noticed she has a beautiful face and such lovely hair” – gossip would stop. As we all (5 boys and 1 girl) left for a sports day, each one was checked for cleanliness and got a kiss on the cheek.”
Glenda H. wrote “Always be positive, never mistrust people, be thankful for good things, you are who you are. She was always there for me – gave me never ending Love and Support.”
Sibyl F. wrote “I was raised by my father, he always said – be good, and love your family always – No matter what.”
It was a lovely gathering and gave us all a chance to think about our Mother and the positive influence she had on our lives.
We also had a visit from Georgia, Chloe and Kendall – from - Lives Lived Well - in Goondiwindi – a space where you can come when you feel overwhelmed with life, facing big life changes – or you need support to gain back your zest for life. Don’t hesitate to reach out. Their contact details are easily accessible.
On offer also were a series of games – but on the tables were put brain teasers which all of the attendees loved to do. A great day for all.
If anyone is thinking of joining the “60’s & Better Healthy Ageing Group” in Inglewood please come along and say gidday – we would love to have fresh new members.
