Dive into Sports
As usual Texas P-10 State School has started the year with an extremely heavy Term 1 sports calendar.

Having recently completed their school swimming carnival, many students qualified to compete in the Border District and Mac Zone swimming trials. As well as this there have been numerous winter sports trials for both primary and secondary students.
Last Friday Texas primary competitors travelled to Goondiwindi to compete in the Mac Zone Swimming Trials. Aubree, Charlotte, Kadence, Mitch, Lochie and Baxter were selected to attend the upcoming Darling Downs Primary School Swimming Trials.
Tuckshop Dilemma
Tuckshop at Texas School is looking like it will go through some unfortunate changes.
The number of days tuckshop will be offered to students will soon be reduced from weekly to fortnightly.
This has come about due to the lack of volunteers who have availed themselves to be part of a regular roster.
Students are extremely disappointed by this decision; however, the weekly tuckshop is not sustainable in its current format.
Members of the P&C are concerned, as profits from the tuckshop make up a high percentage of their income each year. That money is then given back to the school and school community in the form of camp subsidies and resources.
The principal and staff hope that possible volunteers might contact the school to provide the extra help needed to maintain a weekly tuckshop.
The principal and staff would also like to thank those parents who have already volunteered to be added to the tuckshop roster in 2026.
Anyone who thinks they can help are invited to call the school.
