From Welding Shed to Work of Art

Texas high school Art students, under the instruction and watchful eye of Art Teacher Nel Byrnes, have created a very colourful mural on the back wall of the welding shed at Texas School.

The mural depicts an Australiana theme with a Lorikeet and Kookaburra sharing a branch of flowering eucalypt, carrying the message “Laughter is the best medicine”.

The students have been praised for their high-quality of work and are very proud of what they have been able to achieve.

The project took about four months to complete.

Students and teachers have said that aesthetically, it is a very positive addition to the school.

The new mural at Texas School has certainly brightened the back wall of the welding shed.
