Herries Range Wind Farm Information Session Dates Announced
ACCIONA Energía will hold four additional information sessions from 9 to 11 November to share information and hear feedback from the community about the proposed Herries Range Wind Farm.
Almost 50 residents and local businesses attended the September community information sessions at Karara, Warwick, Leyburn and Inglewood.
Key areas of interest from the local community included construction water sources, visual impacts, local road impacts, workforce accommodation, cultural heritage, noise monitoring, bushfire management and long-term decommissioning and rehabilitation responsibilities.
Following these sessions, ACCIONA Energía has revised the proposed Neighbour Benefit Sharing Program and invited independent technical specialists to the next round of community sessions.
The November community sessions will be held at the Warwick RSL Monday 9 November, Leyburn Royal Hotel Tuesday 10 November, and in Albert Street Inglewood outside the Inglewood Medical Centre and at the Karara Community Hall, Wednesday, 11 November.
“We received valuable feedback from the community and local businesses at our September sessions that have helped shape some changes to our proposed Neighbour Benefit Sharing Program,” ACCIONA Energía’s Queensland Lead, David Carson, said.
“We have also listened to feedback from the neighbours and the community and understand that some people still have questions or concerns about topics including construction water sources, noise, bushfire management, decommissioning and local benefits.
“In addition to the ACCIONA Energía project team, we will have specialists in groundwater, noise and ecology on hand to provide further information and listen to feedback from the local community.”
“We will continue to engage with the community as the project progresses and report back about how local feedback has influenced the project.”
The additional community information sessions in November will provide more opportunities to share information from technical and environmental studies and the updated Neighbourhood Benefit Sharing Program.
