The bitter cold weather early in the week was hard to take, but Friday afternoon’s Chook Run was played in glorious sunshine with David Osborne having a win.

Sunday was the July Monthly Mug 18 Hole Stroke and also the start of the 2025 Match Play Championship. A great field turned up on a beautiful day, with high hopes for a good score. There was a fair bit of bad language echoing around the course, so I don’t think everyone went well, but young Steven Osborne had a great day with a 66 net for a terrific win; Lyn Coleman maintained her good form for runner-up; pin shots to Jake Charles and Trudy Elder; while John Slack had least putts. Congratulations to all winners this week, well played.
Next Sunday, a lot of players will travel to Texas for the Zone Championships, and at home there will be a stableford for whoever turns up.
