It’s Going to be the Best Torture on the Border Yet...
"We’re lining up for our best Torture on the Border yet this weekend – Saturday afternoon 28th March at the Texas Swimming Pool. "We have a few new and exciting additions this year, with Nat Cook (five x Olympian and Gold medalist) and Dominique Lamb, President of Brisbane’s 2032 Olympic Committee in attendance", Michelle Ramsay (President) said.
Nat will be hosting a workshop for aspiring young athletes earlier, on the 28th of March, at the Stockman Hotel. Nat is passionate about giving rural and regional young athletes useful information and inspiration to help them navigate their development pathway.
And as our great little community of Texas loves a party, we thought this year we’d shift our Presentation of Awards celebrations to the Stockman Hotel carpark!! Grace will have everything set up for a fun ‘afters’ event and everyone will have easy access to the bar and menu so we can enjoy a cool drink and some dinner together.
We’ve checked the records and if we’ve got it right, this is the 13th year since a group of wonderful locals kicked off the first Torture on the Border Triathlon!! This is a massive achievement and 2026 will be the best yet!!
We have free entry for all children’s events and will be giving back generously with over $5,000 to be divided amongst all the clubs and local organizations that help us by providing volunteers on the day.
Please give one of our events a go (there’s a distance for everyone; you can join a team or compete as an individual and no one is too old!!) or simply come along and show your support for this wonderful, award-winning event, aimed at modelling healthy active fun for our community.
