The twice-yearly grants program supports local not-for-profit organisations with grants of up to $10,000 as part of ACCIONA Energía’s commitment to the long-term future of communities around its renewable energy projects.

In total, more than $58,000 was awarded to 10 local and community groups for the first-round of 2026 grants including those listed below, in our coverage area:

  • Texas Home Life Care Incorporated - support to purchase a small vehicle for volunteers

  • Inglewood State Emergency Service - support to fit out a catering trailer

  • Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (Inglewood Branch) - support for the all-abilities safety and accessibility flooring project

  • Inglewood State School P&C - support for the P&C Trail Ride 2026 event

  • ManUp! Australia - funding to support the Inglewood Beers & Bowls Charity Day

  • Film workshops - support for Karara and Leyburn State Schools to participate in workshops and screenings as part of the Mackay Council for Social Development and Noosa Film Academy’s MacIntyre Stories Across Generations project.

MacIntyre Wind Farm also runs an annual First Nations Small Grants Program, which provides grants of up to $10,000 to support community organisations with initiatives that benefit local First Nations peoples.

The recipient of this year’s grant was WillowTree 37 Women’s Support Centre Inc, which received funding to extend safe support access hours for First Nations women.

ACCIONA Energía Community Engagement team member Katie Unipan said: “We understand the community around our MacIntyre Wind Farm expect to experience the benefits of hosting renewable energy projects and these grants are just one way in which ACCIONA Energía supports our local region.”

“Many local organisations, like our State Emergency Service volunteers and P&Cs, play a critical role in the community and our small grants program provides funding to help ensure their efforts can continue to make a real difference.

“We were delighted to be able to support so many worthy initiatives again this year. We encourage other eligible organisations and community groups to apply for round two of our small grants program.”

Applications for Round Two of the MacIntyre Small Grants Program will be open from 15 June and close on 27 July 2026.

Not-for-profit organisations interested in applying for the program must align with the ACCIONA Social Action Plan and meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Enhance education, healthcare or cultural development

  • Promote sustainability, the environment and conservation

  • Promote, provide or support the provision of basic energy and water services

  • Actively contribute to driving and improving the socio-economic system of the communities where ACCIONA Energía operates.
