New Exhibition “Flat Out Like a Lizard Drinking” Texas Regional Art Gallery
The Texas Regional Art Gallery is proud to present Flat Out Like a Lizard Drinking, a vibrant new exhibition showcasing the diverse talents of Borderline Arts — a cross-border collective of artists from both Queensland and New South Wales.
Running until September 12, the exhibition brings together an impressive range of works in painting, printmaking, weaving, ceramics, embroidery, and sculpture.
Playfully titled with a classic Aussie turn of phrase, Flat Out Like a Lizard Drinking reflects the energy and dedication of the artists involved — all of whom have been creating, connecting, and collaborating within the Borderline Arts network.
The result is a multi-disciplinary exhibition that celebrates both the individuality of each artist and the strength of their shared creative community.
From delicately stitched fabric works to bold sculptural forms, the exhibition is as varied in medium as it is in voice.
Visitors will find a harmonious blend of traditional techniques and contemporary approaches, with each piece offering insight into the personal and regional stories that shape artistic practice along the QLD/NSW border.
Borderline Arts is a community-based, non-profit organisation with a mission to encourage artistic expression, creative development, and connection among artists from both sides of the state line. Through regular workshops, exhibitions, and social gatherings, the group fosters an inclusive and supportive environment where creativity can thrive.
The exhibition is open now and will run through Friday, September 12 at the Texas Regional Art Gallery. Admission is free, and all are welcome.
