Rural Aid hay drops bring vital feed to drought-hit farmers

As worsening drought conditions continue to put enormous pressure on farming families across northern NSW and southern Queensland Rural Aid has been delivering hay to farmers near Glen Innes, Stanthorpe Emmaville and Ashford over the last couple of weeks.

The hay drops come as farmers across the region face increasingly desperate conditions, with feed running out and little rain in sight.

The drought is slowly chipping away at more than farm income. It is placing growing pressure on farmers’ cash flow, hope and mental wellbeing, while dry conditions and an increasing bushfire risk add to the uncertainty.

Rural Aid is trying to shine a light on the worsening situation and ensure drought-affected farmers know support is available.
