So, what were you doing in 1976? It was only fifty years ago!

Well, a bunch of us were in our last year of school at Texas.

We tested the school logo Acta non verba and met up on Saturday the 17th of October for a wonderful reunion.

There was a packed and enjoyable itinerary, starting with the Museum and a tour of the ‘Tobacco Shed’, followed by a hop through the Rabbit Works. It was great seeing the replay of the Big Country Run, Rabbit Run special, where some of our classmates starred.

After that, we took a walk through the school grounds to reminisce and share a few yarns — although perhaps we should say “school lawns”, as there wasn’t much more than ground back in our day!

The night kicked on at Stockman’s, where we filled the front dining room, joined by some partners and, in a very pleasant surprise, a few of our teachers.

A special shoutout to the kitchen staff for managing so many tasty meals on the night, and to the cheery bar staff who kept tending to an increasingly rowdy mob as the evening progressed and to Texas Treats for our special cake.

Fifty years may have elapsed, but old bonds stay true. See you mates at the next one!
