Street Parade draws an enthusiastic crowd

There was an enthusiastic crowd present to watch and cheer-on the unique array of classic vehicles as they paraded up both sides of High Street last Saturday morning. The vehicles were driven back to the Texas sporting complex following the parade for the general public to take a closer look, with Texas Qld Inc. providing catering.

Organiser of the Texas Classic Car Show and Swap Meet Neil Veld with the backing of Texas Qld Inc. was buoyed by the support from participating vehicle owners, their helpers and the general public for this test event.

Neil and all those involved will now go away and weigh-up the potential for another event next year following learnings from this year’s parade and meet. The swap meet component was disappointing, however it is still an idea for consideration and development.

While the number of vehicles were down on the forecast numbers the quality and variety of those present was truly amazing. It is noteworthy to mention there are more vehicles of interest just within the Texas area that didn’t make it to the event. The mind boggles as to the possibilities locally and from further afield.

Congratulations to Neil and all involved for trying something a little bit different. Let’s hope it can develop further into something with its own unique atmosphere in 2027.
