Successful Local Melbourne Cup Function
The Texas Hospital Auxiliary hosted a Melbourne Cup function at the Texas Golf Club on cup day, which saw approximately 50 people enjoy the day.
This was initiated and coordinated by members Kym Jones (who had been involved with the town of Injune’s yearly celebration), Sue Jerram and Jenny Wadsworth.
Councillor Julia Spicer emceed the day and unbelievably she had also grown up in Injune and assisted with their days.
Included in the day was a fashion parade, with clothes supplied by Olive Figg and Co, and Texas Rural Agencies. The brave models were Theresa Edmondstone, Rosie Edmondstone and Kym Jones. There was a lot of cheering and applause for them. Thank you to these two local businesses, and hopefully plenty of sales have been initiated.
Our delicious food was supplied by Jenz Kitchen, thank you Jenny and Christine.
But the most fun was the novelty games, raffle and sweeps organised by the coordinators. There was a lot of cheering and laughing from all in attendance.
Thank you to all who supported our local hospital with the fundraiser, and we hope to see you all again next year
