Texas Garden Club - August Meeting

President Mary opened our meeting and congratulated all who participated in the show and also congratulated the show committee for an extra special show with some changes in some areas. Through rain, mud, water and cold winds the show must go on. Well done.

August 7th, we met at the All-Abilities Park on a very nice day weatherwise for August with twenty-two members. This proves we are alive and active. You are always welcome to join us. We meet each month in a different location. To our members who couldn’t be with us on this day you were in our thoughts.

The flowers were voted on and the results were as follows -

One Flower: 1st Heather, 2nd Paul, 3rd Theresa.

Vase: 1st Paul, 2nd Jenny, 3rd Luci.

Cluster: 1st Paul, 2nd Bryan, 3rd Annette.

Thanks to all who participated in this section.

The meeting discussed some in house issues and what is coming up. How beautiful has the wattle been – pleasant to take a drive.

About three quarters of Australian forests are eucalypt trees. Many eucalypt species have adapted to wildfire and are able to resprout after fires and seed. Eucalypts are known as the birth flower of September; it symbolises resilience healing and its understated beauty is a timeless and calming addition to any modern Australian home.
