Texas Golf Club's Annual Open Carnival
Sixty-seven players competed on the best sand greens course on the Darling Downs in our Annual Open Carnival on Sunday. This was an impressive field considering the weather conditions on Saturday. Firstly, thanks to our band of volunteers for spending hours getting the course, catering and competition ready for Sunday's golf.
Men’s A Grade gross was won by John Morpuss with a 1 under 68, Net winner Merv Morris. Men’s B Grade winner was Col Hoey (73) and net winner was Bruce Green. Men’s C grade was won by our very own Barry Strong (90) with Matt Price taking home the Net. Ladies Div 1 was won by our club Secretary Terri Potter (79) and Net winner was Andrea Fearby. Div 2 ladies winner was Merrilyn Williams (97) with the Net winner being Lyn Coleman. Pin shots went to Phil, Barry, Shannon, Dante, Merrilyn, Bruce, Nick and Scott. Long drives went to Nick, Scott and Ben with the ladies going to Terri and Kris. Thank you to all who attended to make the day so successful for our club.
Thursdays Chook Run was contested by 12 eager golfers playing the back nine. Bruce Q took home the chook with an 18 net. Pin shots went to Phil on 12 and Jack took out 15.
This Sunday is a v Par competition.
