Academic Merit

(Years 3-10) - A student who has earned a GPA greater than 3.9 across all subject areas:

The Arts Award

Celebrates a primary and secondary student’s involvement, leadership, commitment and excellence in activities in music, visual art, drama and film and media during the period of a calendar year. They are awarded to students who participate in range of extra-curricular activities representing Texas P – 10 State School. Everley Trim & Addison Irwin

Rising Star:

The Rising Star Award will recognize a high achieving, up and coming junior athlete in the Texas sporting community. This award has been donated by Merrilyn Williams. Lachlan Cope.

Sporting Star:

A student who tries extremely hard in many sports and has performed to an outstanding level for the Best All Round Sporting Achievement. Brock Dawson.

Special Achievements -

ANZAC Spirit Award:

A year 6 student selected on the basis of ANZAC spirit, academic achievement and community service. Has a sense of purpose and direction, acceptance of responsibility and unselfishness and mateship. Kindly donated by the Stanthorpe RSL Sub Branch. Everley Trim.

True Legends Program Award:

The RSL True Legend Award honours students who demonstrate a strong sense of purpose and leadership. Year 9 students were invited to write a research article on a local fallen service member who was unrelated to them. Kindly donated by the Stanthorpe RSL Subbranch. 1st Addison Irwin; 2nd Lillie Warren.

Commitment to Schooling Bursary:

A student that meets the school expectations in Year 6 who is going on to Secondary at Texas P-10 State School. Briar Krauss.

Diligence Award:

This award recognises primary and secondary students who consistently demonstrate effort, hard work, and dedication to their studies and school responsibilities. Recipients typically exhibit a positive attitude towards learning, take responsibility for their actions, maintain a growth mindset, and actively participate in classroom and school activities. They show respect and cooperation in their interactions with others and maintain an attendance rate above 80%. Kindly donated by The Isolated Children’s Parents' Association. Southern Down’s Future Pathways Award:

This award recognises a Year 10 student who is actively pursuing further education to support their ongoing learning journey and future aspirations. Roman Thompson.

Long Tan Award:

A Year 10 student who must have shown levels greater than that shown by peers of leadership, teamwork, values, problem solving, resourcefulness, communication, co-operation, community involvement. Kindly donated by The Australian Defence Force. Matthew Doherty.

All-rounder Award:

Year 10 student who excels in more than three categories: academic, attitude, personal conduct, leadership, service, sport or the arts. Kindly donated by AMPOL. Brock Dawson.
