Texas Tid-bits (Including Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week)
Last week Texas State School celebrated the wonderful work of their Teacher Aides for Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week.

Teacher Aides were presented with a gift on assembly to show appreciation for the fantastic work they do. The students enthusiastically joined the celebration by providing three huge cheers.
For those who are wondering why there were so many children out and about during school hours recently on a Friday, it was because Queensland state schools had a student free day. Queensland schools have five student free days annually. Most of them occur at the start of the year.
On the 12 September students in years 3,7 and 9 participated in an excursion to the Planetarium at Mt Coot-tha. The excursion will enhance students’ understanding of astronomical concepts, engage them in scientific inquiry and inspire curiosity about space and the universe. Inglewood School will also participate in the scientific adventure.
On the 17 September, Texas P-10 State School will host the 2025 Under 8s Day in conjunction with District Kindergarten and Wrigglers and Gigglers. The theme of this year’s Under 8s day is “Unleashing Scientific Thinking through Play”. It sounds very messy!
This week, Frances, Cameron, Leo, Mere and Liam were presented with highly commended awards and placings for their entries in this year’s Ekka.
Cooper Teese was selected in the Border District u/14 cricket team. He will compete at the Darling Downs trials on 16 October.
