THANK YOU, TEXAS – A SHOW TO REMEMBER!

Despite the rain tumbling down on Saturday, the spirit of Texas shone brightly across the showgrounds during last weekend’s Texas Show. From the mud underfoot to the smiles on your faces, our incredible community showed up in force and proved once again why this event holds such a special place on the local calendar.

While the weather meant we had to postpone the campdraft and sheep dog trials, we’re pleased to share that both events are looking to be rescheduled, rather than be cancelled. Stay tuned for more information – we know many in the community were looking forward to these competitions, and we can’t wait to see them go ahead in better conditions.

Even with a few changes the show certainly didn’t stop. Sunday brought clear skies, and with it, the crowds returned to enjoy a packed program of entertainment and displays. From the thrills of the Rodeo and motorbikes to the colour of the market stalls, side show alley, ute show, and push bike fun – there was something for everyone. The crowd favourite dog show on Sunday, the ever-enthusiastic whip cracking, and the Tough Texan competition were all crowd pleasers. And of course, a huge thank you goes to NH Foods for that mouth-watering BBQ – a true highlight of the weekend.

We also extend a big thank you to our 2025 Junior Showgirls, Georgie Cleversley and Addison Irwin, who proudly represented our show across both days. These two young women did a wonderful job selling raffle tickets, welcoming guests, and being enthusiastic ambassadors for Texas. Their involvement was truly appreciated.

A new and exciting feature this year was the Friday Junior Paraders and Judging, which proved to be a fantastic addition to the program. It was great to see so many young people stepping up, showing off their skills, and embracing the spirit of the show.

Another standout addition was the ‘Classic Not Plastic’ vehicle display – a big hit with motoring enthusiasts and showgoers alike. A special thank you goes to Steward John Spriggs, who did a fantastic job bringing this unique event to life and adding something new for everyone to enjoy.

To our incredible volunteers, thank you. You are the heart and soul of this event – your hard work, dedication, and community spirit make this show possible. To our valued sponsors, we are beyond grateful for your continued support. Without your generosity, we simply could not bring this event to life year after year.

We are proud of the warm welcome visitors receive in Texas. Time and time again, we hear how impressed people are with the friendly, respectful, and polite nature of our young people. That’s something truly special – and something that defines our town.

From all of us on the Show Committee – thank you, Texas. Rain, mud, and all – you made it another show to remember. See you all in 2026!
