A ROARING SUCCESS
On the 27th of November, the entire school of St Maria Goretti, Inglewood, presented the play ‘The Jungle Book’.

The Inglewood Civic Centre was the host to transport the audience to the Indian Jungle where all 40 children participated from prep to year 6.
We had lively monkeys, leaping antelopes, regal elephants, playful wolves and slithering snakes playing with the audience and making their way up and down the aisles.
The audience were awed by the story of the jungle child, Mowgli, raised by wolves and guided by the ever-wise panther, Bagheera along with his friend, the bear, Baloo. The terrible tiger Shere Khan and scary vulture Chil were always prowling for their prey but in the end the animals worked with Mowgli to bring peace to the jungle. The adorable prickly porcupine ended things nicely by telling us “It’s time to go home!”
It was a wonderful spectacle and even ended with a song - it wouldn’t be the jungle book without singing “The Bare Necessities”
