Special guest for the day was Queensland Rugby League Legend Alfie Langer, fresh off his official duties at the winning State of Origin match in Sydney.

Sixteen bowls teams took to the greens on the day.

Alfie was auctioned off with Ryan Donovan’s team acquiring his services for the first game of bowls.

For the second game BLASK Engineering put in the top bid to get Alfie onto their team. There were suggestions that Alfie wasn’t quite as sharp for the second game.

A multi draw raffle was drawn followed by an auction of twenty-six items conducted by Red Johnstone. Items included jerseys and other sports related items, firewood and even a fire pit.

The evening finished off with some Karaoke.

Red and David expressed their thanks to the Inglewood Bowls Cub, committee and supporters for hosting the day. They also extended their thanks to everyone who contributed and purchased tickets “The event far exceeded our expectations raising close to $30,000 for the RFDS”.

The total funds raised to date this year is sitting around the $120,000.00 mark.
