Coolmunda Ski Fest a Resounding Success
Ski Racing Queensland returned to Lake Coolmunda last weekend for the first time since the 1990’s to hold water ski races.

Competitors and spectators were welcomed by fantastic conditions on and off the water.
With competitors back on the water after a two and half year break a format of 23 races over the weekend provided the opportunity for lots of laps for competitors.
Water ski racing has one or two skiers being towed in timed races on a 5km circuit by purpose-built boats with speeds achieved of up to 160km/h.
The weekend’s event saw teams attend from Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Kingaroy and Dalby.
Winner of the Coolmunda Ski Fest was the boat Hollow Point towing Samuel McKenzie from Sydney, followed by TR Marine, and Watersports Marine in third.
Off the water competitors socialised at the Lake Coolmunda Caravan Park who put on a BBQ Saturday night for all competitors and supporters to enjoy time around the campfire.
With the event a success, and great support from the local community, Ski Racing Queensland look forward to returning to Inglewood and Lake Coolmunda in the near future.
