How exciting was Book Week!

2025 was a milestone year for the CBCA (Children’s Book Council of Australia) as we celebrated 80 years of Children’s Book Week.

High school students (L-R) Harper, Matilda, Deanna & Natalie were inspired by “The Lorax” by Dr Seuss, and hand-made their costumes to delight and excite the younger students - the makeup did not wash off easily!

For eight decades, CBCA has inspired young minds to journey through the countless worlds that books offer, and that’s why this year’s theme was “Book An Adventure”. Mrs Sandy Hobbs put together an awesome adventure display in the Inglewood State School Resource Centre, filled with hot air balloons, globes and inspiring adventure artwork created by the students from all classes.

We had adventurers from all around the world in all shapes, colours and sizes. Bookfair was open to students and families for an entire week, promoting the joy of reading and experiencing adventures all over the world, without needing a passport!

At Inglewood State School, reading with our students is another way to show how we care, we learn and together we succeed.
