Inglewood Lions Club Continues Serving the Community

Members of the Inglewood Lions Club, and local volunteers were kept busy recently, lending a hand at both the well-attended Inglewood Anzac Day service and the arrival of the steam train to town.

Following the Anzac service, Lions Club participants and friends (pictured above) served refreshments to attendees, helping create a welcoming atmosphere for the community gathering.

Excitement returned to town again on May 3 when the historic steam train rolled into Inglewood on its journey from Goondiwindi to Warwick. Crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of the puffing locomotive (above), with many local children delighted by the spectacular sight of the billowing steam as the train arrived.

The Inglewood Lions Club once again provided catering for the hungry travellers, with passengers enjoying their lunch during the train’s one-hour stop, before continuing their journey.

The next steam train visit is expected in August and is already anticipated to draw another enthusiastic crowd.

The events highlighted just some of the many community projects undertaken by the Inglewood Lions Club throughout the year.

Congratulations to all Lions Club members and helpers who assisted on the day and helped make both occasions such a success.
