Ooh la la!

During our first week of Term 3 at Inglewood P-10 State School, we commemorated Bastille Day. Bastille Day is France’s national holiday, celebrated on July 14th. It remembers the day in 1789 when people in Paris took over the Bastille prison.

This important event helped start the French Revolution and led to big changes, including ending the king’s total control over the country. Many staff and students dressed up in red, white and blue – the colours of the French flag – and we all attempted to speak a little bit of French during the day. Our students were treated to croissants and baguettes, and thanks go to the Year 7 class and Mrs Lydement for their valued assistance preparing the traditional French fare. C’est très délicieux!

Our wonderful Mrs Melisa Pietsch, who teaches French to students from Prep to Year 8, vibrant in her red beret, made the day magnifique and it was enjoyed by students and staff. Merci Madame Pietsch.
